Masha Shunko

Vice President

Ever since her childhood upbringing in Estonia (within the Soviet Union at the time), Masha has been in love with everything mathematics. As a child, she grew up participating in math circles and Olympiads, and is now thrilled to share her passion with younger generations.

While retaining her life-long math interest, Masha received her Ph.D. in Operations Management from Carnegie Mellon University and is now an Associate Professor of Operations Management at the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. Her research has appeared in top academic journals and been featured in popular media outlets such as Scientific American, New York Times, and Harvard Business Review. She has consulted Caterpillar, JD Power, Microsoft, and several medical organizations including Mayo Clinic. 

Masha lives in Issaquah with her two teen-aged children, a dog, a cat, and a gecko. She is an avid yoga practitioner and certified yoga instructor who also enjoys hiking, skiing, skating, and paddle-boarding.
