3D Printables
Many of the puzzles, games, and building toys we bring to events were designed and printed by SUMM staff and community members. People frequently ask, "Can I buy these?"
We don't yet have the infrastructure to offer most of these for purchase, but if you have access to a 3D printer, you are welcome to print copies for personal and educational use. One exception: the Tensegrity Building System is available for purchase in person at our Kent Station Museum Gift Shop during open hours.
There is no charge for files, but SUMM resources and events are supported by the donations of math fans like you. If you're able, a $5–10 donation per design helps us keep making free math resources like this one.
Tensegrity Building System
Tensegrity is a system of balancing tension and compression forces to create architectural pieces that appear to “float.” This toy will allow you to experiment with this design principle by crafting your own sculptures or building examples inspired by polyhedra.
Octet Building System
This toy allows you to experiment with building in the octet lattice. We also have some pieces that allow you to break with the lattice structure and build in other interesting, non-rectilinear ways. This has been very popular with our youngest learners.
Polygon Dissection Puzzles
One of our most popular creations, this set of puzzles is based on best-known dissections between regular polygons. Each is two puzzles in one!
