Monique Harrison, Ed.S., is Founder and President of Harrison Educational Consulting Group and an educational leader with over 33 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and educational leadership. She is the Secondary Mathematics Program Specialist for Kent School District, collaborating with educators to create equitable and engaging math experiences centered on data science, student inquiry, and critical thinking.

Her leadership includes serving as Board Secretary for the Benjamin Banneker Association (BBA) and partnering in creating the Benjamin Banneker Math Room at the Northwest African American Museum (NAAM). She is dedicated to fostering inclusive learning environments where all students see themselves as capable mathematicians.

An innovative instructional leader, Monique has facilitated book studies on Building Thinking Classrooms and Equity Counts, supporting educators in implementing student-centered practices. Her workshop “Leading for Equity: Building Thinking Classrooms Through Social Justice-Focused Leadership” highlights strategies for creating inclusive school cultures.

As state president of Delta Kappa Gamma, she promotes the biennium theme of being Daring, Knowledgeable, and Giving, inspired by Mildred German, a pioneering Black educator and founder of her local chapter.

Monique is committed to developing change-makers and lifelong learners through cultural responsiveness and courageous leadership. She holds certifications in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace and Project Management.

Her career spans roles in traditional public, charter, and private schools, including 27 years as a secondary math teacher and six years as a K-12 administrator and specialist. She excels in professional development, advancing diversity and inclusion, data analysis, evidence-based instruction, and supporting early-career educators.

Recognized for her dedication, she has received several awards, including the Mildred German Grant-in-Aid and the 2022 Seattle Human Rights Commission Education Leader Award.
