SUMM + MathFest = Success!

What a success! SUMM’s involvement in MathFest was a fun-filled positive experience for all. We brought fun hands-on engaging math toys for kids to play, explore and experience math in 3D. Advisory Board member Rona Gurkewitz, our resident origami expert, helped families engage in the mathematical art of origami, while some learners immersed themselves making arrays to show relationships between numbers and developing spatial awareness. Parents and children together discovered our giant soma cubes, and collaboratively built geometric shapes.

SUMM received great feedback and overall positive support from the community. We look forward to continuing our community outreach in future programs like these. Your continued support of SUMM makes free programs such as these possible.
