SUMM’s Math Path to New Adventures Recap

Tuesday night we held our first ever Math Path to New Adventures event. The event was presented in partnership with the University of Washington – Foster School of Business. Four presenters engaged a room filled with Middle Schoolers about the impacts math has had on their lives and careers.

“Thank you very much for organizing this event. I liked it a lot! Most importantly though, my son, Ivan, was very engaged as well. He didn't really want to attend at first, but we agreed we will leave early if he doesn't like it. At some point he told me: "Mom, I want to stay till the math quiz, I am curious to participate". I've seen that he was really interested and engaged, he listened to all speakers carefully. On our way home he told me: "Math is very interesting indeed"

- Anna, mom of 6th grade student

After presentations the students were given time to mingle and ask questions of the presenters. The event was met with great enthusiasm from both parents and students. We had a great event with students ranging from 5-8th grade in attendance.
