PacSci Star Party
Join SUMM at PacSci in partnership with The Downtown School for a full day celebrating astronomy. Students from The Downtown School will present talks on a range of current topics in astronomy. Guests can also explore activity stations led by students and community experts, featuring hands-on experiences in current astronomy research, space missions, celestial observations, and more.
Whether you’re a lifelong stargazer, curious about what lies beyond our solar system, or just looking for a fun day, there’s something here for you. Come support student-led science, meet local experts from the field, and see for yourself just how endlessly fascinating the universe can be.
June Volunteer Night
Spend an evening at the SUMM office helping clean manipulatives and organize materials. During SUMM’s volunteer night, you’ll help prep, sort, and assemble materials for programs and kits that will go directly into the hands of learners across Washington. It’s a fun, relaxed way to support SUMM’s mission.
Whether you enjoy organizing, crafting, or simply pitching in wherever help is needed, we have a spot for you.

Come say hi to SUMM at the 54th U District Street Fair! Kick off Seattle’s summer event season with a 15 block-long arts and crafts fair that takes over University Way (a.k.a. “The Ave”). The two-day event will also feature free live music and performances, and over 40 food trucks and booths. This Seattle tradition regularly attracts over 70,000 visitors and now is accessible by link light rail which will transport visitors to the middle of the event at NE 43rd Street.
