Amy is a life-long learner and educator. She is currently a math teacher and the co-head of her department at Shorewood High School. She has a BA in Sociology from University of Michigan where she also co-headed the LGBT commission and worked with multiple non-profits including the Ginsberg Center and Ozone House, which founded her passion for activism. She has a Masters of Arts Education in Curriculum and Instruction in Mathematics from New Mexico State University. Amy was an AmeriCorps artist at Alma d’Arte Charter High School where she cultivated a passion to do arts integration with all subject matter, including math.
Amy has been teaching for 15 years professionally and is a National Board Certified Teacher. She strives daily to find a way to make math just as exciting and engaging for others as she feels it is for herself. She spends most of her time with her fun-loving husband and three kids. When she gets a chance she loves to do puzzles, hike, play video games, and run.
