Ava Isarankura
Outreach Assistant
she/her/hers
Ava has been passionate about mathematics for as long as she can remember, drawn to its balance between concrete rules and infiniteness. She recently graduated in May 2024 from Tufts University, earning dual degrees: a B.S. in Mathematics and a B.S. in Environmental Studies with a concentration in sciences. Ava’s dream of becoming a teacher was inspired by the impactful math teachers and professors she encountered throughout her education, from middle school to college. This aspiration has led her to work with SUMM, where she is eager to gain experience as an educator before pursuing a Master’s in Secondary Education. Ava’s ultimate goal is to teach secondary-level mathematics, inspiring a new generation of students to love math just as she does.
Born and raised in Seattle, WA, Ava enjoys a variety of activities outside of work, including hiking, hot yoga, cooking for loved ones, taking long walks, playing tennis, reading, attending concerts, and tackling New York Times games.
